Should a dielectric breakdown occur in a capacitor due to an over voltage, abnormal heat or natural end of product life, the capacitor may emit smoke or catch fire. To prevent such an occurrence, the SEIKA P2 capacitor is equipped with a safety device which disconnects it
from the circuit.

※ If an abnormality occurs in some electrodes which fuse will partially disconnect the film from the body ; thus maintaining the normal function of the capacitor.

※ | Capacitors have to be used under rated temperature, rated voltage, and the terms and conditions stated in the specification sheets in order to assure the efficacy and sensitivity of the safety mechanisms. |
※ | It is important to prevent the phenomena such as capacitor internal materials get wet or damage caused by external causes. Otherwise it will have bad effect of the effectiveness and action sensitivity of the safety mechanisms. |
※ | Avoid poor connection, strike spark, or discharge directly which will cause the big volume of electric current pass through the fuses, and the fuses will action and cause no capacitance. |
※ | This capacitor is equipped with internal safety mechanism, please do not short circuit discharge. The capacitor deterioration will cause the capacitance lessen; thus arouse abnormal temperature rise of the motor! Therefore, please consider retrofitting motor thermal protectors or other protection methods. |
※ | For capacitor of more than 1 ampere rated current, we recommend the use of aluminum case design capacitors with build-in protective device as an applicable replacement for better protection. |
