3. At the outdoors shade where the sun does not shine directly, let the front of leaf toward you for leaf identification. Identify the value compared to leaf color plates (different color density value from 2 to 5). Do not directly observe both under the sun, so as to avoid light reflection and affect the accuracy of identification of leaves.
4. Record 10 leaves value (if the color is located between 2 value and difficult to determine, you can use decimals), calculated the average value of 10 leaves. You can understand the overall nutritional status of this area, to determine how to fertilize.
5. Color identification should consider the ambient light intensity avoid direct sunlight or artificial lighting for identification, so as to avoid errors.

B. When the average leaf color is in value 3, means slightly less nutritious rice plants. Can be increased the amount of nitrogen than usual, in order to promote rice growth.
C. When the average leaf color below value 3 (namely leaf color yellow than value 3), the rice plants is malnutrition, immediately increased fertilizer to add nutrients to promote normal growth of rice.
D. When the average leaf color is value 4, it means the plant nitrogen content slightly higher than the suitable dosage. We should reduced proportion of nitrogen.
