What is an IR Extender?
Break out the popcorn and get an immersive experience of home theatre with your latest cable box, brand-new blue ray DVD and amazing sound system, that’s really a wonderful relax and enjoyment. However, you will not expect all these set-ups are under or near your TV for they’re too clumsy and messy, so you move it nearby or to cabinets in different rooms.

Problem: When you move the devices, remote can’t control the cable box, DVD or sound system. Remotes work through IR infrared signal that requires line-of-sight. This means the infrared signal won't transmit through walls or around corners -- you need a straight line to the device you're trying to control.
Solution: The IR extender can emit an infrared signal from your remote control so you can control your theater even if it is out of sight.

E.g. You can use DVD remote to control TV, or TV remote to control DVD with dual IR extender.

Be careful to make sure whether your IR extender work with your devices?
First band frequencies ranging from 33-43kHz, while second band ranges from 44-60kHz, your remote and TV must work on the same frequency in case the remote will not pass the signal.
Those only work with 33-43kHz are called single band extender, those work with both 33-42kHz and 44-60kHz are called dual band extender.

1, How far do you need to go?

2, How much is your budget? Wireless or Wire extender.
Get a wireless one if your budget is enough, whereas extender over Cat5e/6 is more cost-effective.
3, How many receivers do you need?
1 is ok? 2 is fine, or multiple receivers are perfect for you? Our T-507 can cascade up to 253 receivers through daisy-chain.
4, Do you have enough power socket?
Check our model T-505H with POC (power over cable) function, so need to worry about enough power sockets or outlets.
5, Do you want to have HDMI loop out?
Check our T-505E/ T-505B for HDMI loop out.
6, Do you want the splitter function?
