Sensoplex Helps Make Wearable Technology Production Effective
A company can develop a smartwatch that can literally replace your smartphone, however if it looks like a smartphone hanging on your wrist, are you likely to wear it? Chances are the answer to that question is, No. That means fashion has some say towards the acceptability of such a wearable device.
If you are on the manufacturing end, you could be facing several problems, such as a design that includes all of the functionality that you are looking to provide, while at the same time keeping the cost down so that it is an affordable product.
Right there you have two factors that impact how the general public could view wearable technology. If it not fashionable, would you still wear it and if it costs and arm and a leg, could you afford it?
One company that is looking to provide relief in the latter is Sensoplex.
Sensoplex is a Silicon Valley company that provides professional services for the definition, development and production of sensing, computing and wireless wearables. It is a product accelerator and enabler for OEM companies focused on wireless wearable and The Internet of Things applications. A proven flexible platform design also means it can quickly be customized and helps to reduce a product time to market by as much as about 50 percent.
In fact, in a recent rating, Gartner (News - Alert) has selected Sensoplex as one of five, ool Vendors in Embedded Software and Systems, 2014.?This is due to the fact that Sensoplex can help OEM reduce development time, as well as cost.
In addition, a couple of weeks ago, Sensoplex announced that it had completed FCC (News - Alert) and CE certification of its SP-10C 10-axis motion-sensing module. The SP-10C module incorporates best-in-class hardware and software including 3-axis gyroscope, accelerometer and magnetometer sensors from InvenSense, as well as pressure and temperature sensors from Bosch Sensortec.
This module is one of the flexible platforms that I mentioned before. By embedding the SP-10C into a wireless personal system, a customer can use the module as a platform for further development. In this way, the cost is reduced along with that precious time it takes to get to market. The bottom line is that this enables the customer to hit crucial market launch windows.
Last year we held our first Wearable Tech Expo right here in New York City. It was an exciting couple of days that brought not only some very interesting products, but also informative panel discussions. This year event is expected to be just as stimulating. One of the panel discussions called, t not the Device, It the Data: Creating Effective Wearables?will feature panellist Hamid Farzaneh (News - Alert) who is Sensoplex. The panel will be discussing what contributes to the success of wearable technology products. There are a lot of factors that come into play and this panel of wearable technologists will discuss the nature of the underlying technology that underpins the success of the wearable tech market.
