The Department of International Trade Promotion under the Ministry of Commerce, together with, the Thai Furniture Industries Association (TFA) and the Thai Furniture Industry Club (TFIC) of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), announced to the public their plans to make the Thailand International Furniture Fair 2014 the grandest furniture exposition ever staged in Thailand.
Held at Challenger 2 and Challenger 3, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, from March 12th to 16th, 2014, the event unfolds as a fascinating showcase of the very best in furniture design and innovation Thailand has to offer, from over 200 top furniture makers manning a total of 750 booths.
Mrs. Duangkamol Jiambutr, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Trade (DITP), revealed that, “The market value of Thailand’s exported furniture and parts was worth 1,237.81 Million USD in 2013, an 8.34% growth over the same figure in 2012. Top five export markets in terms of growth were Russia (210.92%), Vietnam (77.42%), Myanmar (50.59%), Malaysia (38.35%) and South Africa (36.18%). For 2014, we expect market value to grow to reach the level of 1,300 Million USD.”
The Deputy Director-General added that, “One of the unique selling points of annual TIFF events is that exhibitors at this event are willing to serve even small or specialized orders. Exhibitors can fulfill an order as small as one piece and are open to receive specific orders to satisfy customer requests. Show visitors can look for the ‘SOOK’ or ‘Small Order OK’ logo at the booths of such exhibitors. ”
