FreedomWorks PAC: Rob Cornilles Will Best Represent the Interests of Oregon’s First District |
|
2010/6/18 |
Today, fiscal conservative and “Champion of Freedom” Rob Cornilles joins an impressive list of candidates endorsed by FreedomWorks PAC as part of the Take America Back in 2010 campaign. Born and raised in Oregon, Cornilles is a community leader and respected sports industry consultant running for Congress in Oregon’s First District. He earned the “Champion of Freedom” endorsement from FreedomWorks PAC for his leadership in the advancement of a common-sense, limited government agenda.
An advocate of the free market, Cornilles understands that the road to job creation and economic growth in Oregon will be paved with lower taxes and more individual freedom. For this reason, he promises to advocate for an indefinite extension of the Bush tax cuts, and to fight any future legislation that overreaches the limits of the federal government set by the Constitution.
Keeping consistent with his limited-government principles, Cornilles is a strong opponent of both cap-and-trade and government-run health care. Instead, he advocates a smart and simple strategy that would allow Americans to shop for health insurance across state lines and permit small businesses to unite and purchase insurance at lower group rates.
FreedomWorks PAC will support the Cornilles campaign by leading numerous Get Out The Vote (GOTV) efforts, including direct mailings, yard sign distribution, volunteer phone banks and neighborhood literature drops leading up to election day.
Rob Cornilles stands in sharp contrast from his opponent, Democrat incumbent David Wu. Congressman Wu voted for numerous costly bills, including the extension of the Death Tax, ObamaCare, and the $700 billion T.A.R.P. program to bailout large corporations.
“Congressman Wu has repeatedly put politics over the principles of the Constitution,” remarked FreedomWorks PAC President Matt Kibbe. “It’s time for Oregon voters to say ‘Enough.’ Rob Cornilles recognizes Oregon’s potential for economic prosperity, and will respect the needs of his constituents. When the conservatives restore fiscal responsibility, political integrity and accountability to Washington this November, Rob Cornilles will be on the front lines leading the charge.”
