The proton magnetometer belongs to a branch with higher precision of
multitudinous magnetometer. Even to surveying the relative weaker
magnetism, like Earth's magnetic field, the proton magnetometer can also
obtain a higher resolution and the precision, therefore, so weak the change of
earth¡¦s magnetic field is, it can detect. Its principle of work uses the
phenomenon of hydrogen proton precessing in the magnetic field to carry on
the measurement. The sensor is filled with liquid contained hydrogen, these
hydrogen protons in which is at the disorder of the arrangement condition until
being polarized forcibly by the instrument.
At the time when polarizing signal is impacted artificially on it, the proton will
carry on precession. Until the signal die out, and influenced mainly by outside
magnetic field, the precession will decline. Through measuring the frequency
of transmitting-signal instrument that affected by precession to calculate the
scale of outside magnetic field. Doing these activities repeatedly without stop
bring about continuous measurement.
This instrument can measure magnetic field with ¡Ó1nT accuracy, and the
resolution can be as far as 0.1nT, which completely conforms to the request of "Ground High accuracy Magnetic survey Service regulations" issued by
Geology and Mining Department. |
